The Magical Mystery Tour

I'll be leaving for France in a few weeks to study/go sightseeing/visit different countries/take photographs/learn how to be independent. That said, I decided to create my own personal blog to document my four-month stay in Europe. If you're interested, feel free to visit my other account.

p.s. I'll still be updating in this blog too, of course! This blog, after all, started it all. Where would I be without Secret Skins?

Up and about

The past week has been awesome. Seeing as how my days are actually devoted to preparing visa requirements, planning which European countries to visit, meeting friends (both old and new), pigging out, catching up on the TV shows and films I missed, reading the books I've been meaning to read (Harry Potter 7 killed me!), experimenting with my battered but loved dSLR, and getting out of the house, let's just say I am one happy camper.

Good times indeed!

Are you making this magic?

Mary: No, you are.

Colin: Just like in the story. It's like the whole universe is here in this garden.

Mary: Some of it is.

I love this film.

Ready or not

Freedom from school and irksome obligations! (at least, for now)
Countdown to France starts now.

C'est mercredi

The woman is perfected.
Her dead
Body wears the smile of accomplishment.

The illusion of a Greek necessity
Flows in the scrolls of her toga,
Her bare
Feet seem to be saying:
We have come so far, it is over.
Each dead child coiled, a white serpent,
One at each little
Pitcher of milk, now empty.

She has folded
Them back into her body as petals
Of a rose close when the garden
Stiffens and odors bleed
From the sweet, deep throats of the night flower.

The moon has nothing to be sad about,
Staring from her hood of bone.
She is used to this sort of thing.
Her blacks crackle and drag.

Reality leaves a lot to the imagination

My role in society, or any artist's or poet's role, is to try and express what we all feel. Not to tell people how to feel. Not as a preacher, not as a leader, but as a reflection of us all.

The Beatles can do no wrong.
Agree?

Hearts wrapped in blankets

You're cold, maybe you just missed the sun
You fall, feeling like it's just begun

So far, keeping it together's been tough

Look up, rain is falling, looks like love

If I could cheat, I'd skip to the end

Today's outfit
Today's purchase
Today's lunch/afternoon snack

All in all, a good day.

ILY, Mommy

Sales are always so frantic and exciting here, but I'm a starving student so I love the long lines, love the frenzy, love the familiar faces, love the mad rush, love the cheap clothes.

So what did you buy today?
